Things To Do in Philly This Weekend: Mike McCann Team Top 6 Picks!

  1.  Beginning tomorrow, April 5th, TreePhilly is giving away FREE trees for Philadelphia property owners! You can get up to 2 trees per property or 10 for a community space. They have 11 different types of trees (with fun names too–Sassafras, Serviceberry, Brown Turkey Fig…) and tree-pick-up begins for the general public at 2pm! Take advantage of this awesome resource and spruce up your curb appeal or backyard!
  2.  It’s officially Philly Tech Week and there’s a TON going on, but if you have to choose just one event, we’d suggest the Guiness-certified world’s largest game of Tetris on the Circa Centre! This year the game will be projected on the north and south sides of the 29-story building, so you can see it from all over Philly. Click here for a chance to play in this record-setting game.
  3. One of the many things Philadelphia does well is First Friday. Whether you feel like venturing out in Old City, Manayunk or Fairmount, you can explore galleries, shops, music and drink specials to your heart’s content.
  4. The 20th Annual Philadelphia Invitational Furniture Show is this weekend! Get inspired to spring clean and re-decorate with the uniquely gorgeous handmade pieces–from wooden bowls to chairs to bed frames, the PIFS has something for everyone.
  5. We can’t forget the little ones–East Passyunk Avenue is getting in the Easter spirit with a free egg hunt for children up to age 10! Bring your family and decorate bags, visit with the Easter Bunny and enjoy kid-friendly brunch. For more information, click here!
  6. The Fairmount Arts Crawl returns for a 10th year! It’s free and awesome. Local businesses turn into galleries to showcase local artists, musicians and vendors. You can learn more about the specifics here. It’s an awesome way to support our city artists and enjoy a day of dancing, music, activities for the little ones and fun all afternoon long!
