Enjoy March Madness at These Philly Hot Spots!

It’s that time of year! You might love it, you might hate it, you might feel absolutely nothing about it, but either way, it’s officially March Madness. Whether you’re competing against your friends, in a pool at work, playing for the billion dollar perfect bracket, or have no idea what a bracket is, you can enjoy The Mike McCann Team’s picks of where to celebrate March Madness with discount drinks, cheap nachos, rooftop terraces, raffles and prizes and of course, all the college basketball your heart desires:

Distrito Restaurant: Does it get better than $4 nachos from one of the only chefs in the country with the title of Iron Chef during all March Madness games? Plus, with $2 cans of Tecate and a bar stocked with 100+ tequila, and menu of mouth-watering delicacies you can’t go wrong. Maybe you’ll even be lucky enough to sit in the booth fashioned from an authentic VW Beetle!

City Tap House: 60 beers on tap, outdoor seating on TWO terraces, a huge dining room that will fit your entire group, $3 dollar cans of Sly Fox during all games AND it was voted best bar to watch a game by Philly Beer Scene in 2011 and 2012? You don’t have to be a college/grad student to enjoy this University City staple.

Mad River Manayunk: Although Mad River has a reputation as a Penn State bar, as long as you’re not wearing a Ohio State or Michigan jersey, you’re bound to have a great time. During every game, they’re offering $3 dollar Bud and Bud Light, and for Saturday post games, they’ll add on $3 dollar Coors Light and Lager drafts too! There are televisions evvverywhere, and everyone’s a fan, so the energy is just what you want for a game.

Iron Hill Restaurant: Iron Hill’s are everywhere and they’re tasty. Until this Sunday, enjoy a bacon-inspired menu for Bacon Madness! If you want to trek into the suburbs, the Media Iron Hill has a dessert menu featuring bacon (intriguing!). And if you’d like to stay in Philadelphia, the Chestnut Hill location is offering raffles and prizes during a head-to-head cask competition on March 24th from 1-5pm and March 31st from 4-8pm and with a large kid’s menu, this is a great family stop!

Cavanaugh’s Rittenhouse: Cavanaugh’s is a fabulous place to watch the games and with a free bracket challenge with great prizes (daily meals for a MONTH if you win first place? Yes please!) you would be silly not to play along! During games, they’re offering Miller Lite 16 ounce drafts for just $3.50 on both levels of the restaurant so order some pretzels and pigs or crab seasoned tater tots, sit back and enjoy the fun.

Wherever you end up, we’re sure you’ll have an awesome time. Let us know if you win your bracket! We’ll be super proud of you.
