New Years Eve in Philadelphia!

Happy New Year!

Philadelphia does an excellent job of ringing in the New Year! With mummers, fireworks, food and parties, Philly offers many amazing ways to say goodbye to 2014 and start off 2015.  From family friendly, to wild and crazy, we’ve truly got it all!

5. Eat up!

Philly has a huge selection of restaurants to choose from to eat to your heart’s content to finish up 2014 and many of them are offering up a special New Year’s Eve menu. The Moshulu will be offering a special prix fixe menu, right under the fireworks and Spirit Cruises is offering a New Year’s Eve Fireworks Dinner Cruise. Philly has tons of dining options to make this New Year special and delicious. Make sure you make those reservations!

4. Family Fun

If you are spending New Years with your children, these family friendly events will definitely create lifetime memories. The Please Touch Museum is having an adorable, New Year’s Eve party for kids, the Countdown 2 Noon. This Alice in Wonderland themed party will definitely put a smile on your child’s face and it will give them an opportunity to watch the ball drop at 1pm in case they don’t manage to stay up until midnight. Adventure Aquarium is hosting their family-friendly New Year’s Eve Splash with music, dancing and access to all of the aquariums attractions. Say hello to Adventure Aquariums friendly shark mascot and party host, Gill, for us! Of course, you will definitely want to get a good view of the kid-friendly, 6pm fireworks show over the Delaware. Make this New Year a memorable night for the whole family and don’t forget to bang those pots and pans!

3. Par-tay!

We already know that Philly can throw one wild party. Get ready to dance the night away at some of these Philly hot spots. If you are looking to spend your evening in the classiest manner possible, grab yourself a ticket to the New Year’s Eve celebration at the Crystal Tea Room and party like a V.I.P in an elegant atmosphere. Xfinity Live! is promising one of the wildest parties in town with live music and seven different parties in one venue. SoundGarden Hall is going to be partying all night with four hours of nonstop dance music for the young and young at heart. Prepare yourselves for one legendary night, Philly!

2. Fireworks

Of course, no New Year’s Eve would be complete without our famous fireworks display over the Delaware River. No matter what you are planning on doing with your evening, make sure you make time to stop and see this breathtaking display. Sponsored by Sugarhouse Casino, these firework performances at 6 and midnight are the perfect way to celebrate all of the wonderful things to come this year!

1. The Mummers Parade

This parade is so uniquely Philly and all-around awesome, do not miss out on these quirky festivities! Beginning at 10 AM on New Year’s Day, the Mummers will begin their route at City Hall and march down Broad Street to Washington Avenue. Make sure you grab yourself a nice spot along the parade route and enjoy all of these colorful performances. Come take part in one of Philly’s oldest and most celebrated traditions.
