Things to Do the Last Weekend in July

Sadly, this weekend has sneaked up on us faster than we wanted.  Though August will also be a sun filled, 31 day month, there’s just something about July that we’ll fondly miss.  That said, be sure to bid it farewell by having a fantastic weekend!

Wondering where to go or what to do?  We have some ideas.

See “Bodies”

Located at Frankford Avenue Arts Corridor, B. Someday is a Barrymore Award-winning non-profit theatre company serving the areas of Kensington, Fishtown, Northern Liberties, Greater Philadelphia, and beyond!  You can find any and every genre being performed here, from comedies to dramas.  All through July, you can enjoy their featured film, “Bodies” by Steven Saylor along with brand new short films.  Each ticket, priced at only $7 also gets you free admission to the short films.  Doors open at 7:30pm, but get there early for the cartoons.  Want to preview the movie? Ride the Horses, Then Play Mini-Golf

One of Philadelphia’s five original squares, Franklin Square is known as a ‘fun for all ages’ park with tons to offer.  Located at 200 N. 6th Street, this park offers a magical carousel, a Philadelphia inspired mini-golf,
beautiful scenery, and a very yummy food stand.  Visit the playful oasis Sunday through Thursday from 10am to 9pm or Friday through Saturday from 10am to 10pm.  For more details, click HERE.

Eat Your Heart Out, Twice

GQ magazine has dubbed Federal Donuts and Alla Spina’s two of ‘The 50 Best Things to Eat and Drink Right Now,’ in the country!  If you’re in the mood to treat your taste buds, we suggest you visit either (or both!) of these decadent spots.  Order the raved about pig tails with fennel agrodolce if you visits Alla Spina’s.  If you head to Federal Donuts, you must try the fancy blueberry muffin.  For the entire list, click HERE.

Have a wonderful weekend!
