‘Tis the Season to Give!

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are two days that millions of consumers wait their entire year for.  It’s a day where dream flat screen TV’s and Keurigs become reality and a chance to start our Holiday shopping on the right foot.  But in the event that you wanted to spend a little more, might we suggest some local charities?  With just a few clicks, you could help someone in need and make their Holiday a little jollier too!

Local Charities:

Project H.O.M.E.
Benefiting those without homes, this nonprofit collects sheets, soap, razors, and more.  But more than shelter, it gives people a second chance to return to day to day life.  For more information on how you can help, go to http://www.projecthome.org/donate/.

Arch Street Christmas Breakfast
One of the most praised programs in Center City; the Arch Street Methodist Men’s Christmas Breakfast lets you donate your free time to feeding the hungry.  If you’d like to serve a Holiday feast to someone in need, call 215.568.6250.

Philabundance
Providing 65,000 people with food each week is no simple task, but Philabundance wastes no time or donations.  Volunteers are always welcome and can go to http://www.philabundance.org/ for more details.

The Ronald McDonald House
Did you know that just $105 can keep an entire family of one sick child in the luxury of their own home, free of charge, for an entire week?  Whether it’s time or money, see what you can do for these young faces.  Go to http://rmhc.org/how-you-can-help/volunteer/ for more info.

Manna
This group prepares and delivers food to those living with life-altering, life-threatening illnesses such as AIDS/HIV, cancer, etc.  Providing three meals a day, 7 days a week, is not an easy thing to do, so if and when you’d like to donate, whether it be time or money, don’t shy from visiting http://www.mannapa.org/.
